I gained my Law and Criminal Justice LLB (2:1) from De Montfort University, Leicester in 2007. I then gained my Legal Practicing Certificate from Northumbria University in 2008, qualifying as a Solicitor in March 2011 whilst working at Bleasdales Solicitors in Cumbria.
I am an Associate Solicitor working in Poppleston Allen’s Regulatory Team. My experience includes investigations and prosecutions in:
I advise companies, directors and individuals on all aspects of regulatory compliance and licensing across a range of sectors including retail and food.
My previous experience of prosecuting regulatory matters on behalf of the Local Authority, and also defending regulatory matters for companies and individuals, gives me a great insight into the different considerations from ‘both sides of the fence’ in regulatory prosecutions and investigations.
Working previously as a Duty Solicitor in the Magistrates Court and in police stations, I have a wealth of experience dealing with matters at the interview stage in police stations, right through to trial in the Courts.
I previously worked as advisor to the Licensing Committee and Enforcement Sub-Committee at Leicester City Council.
I am an active member of the Institute of Licensing and mentor students in the Leicestershire Law Society Annual School’s Competition (held at Leicester Crown Court).
Prior to joining Poppleston Allen I was an Associate Solicitor at top 50 UK law firm, Shoosmiths.
In conjunction with the BII, we have created an exam compiled from past paper questions.
