Felix is an Associate Solicitor in Poppleston Allen’s London office. Felix initially joined Poppleston Allen in 2015 as a sandwich placement student from Nottingham Trent University, graduating with a Bachelor of Laws in 2017. He returned to Poppleston Allen in November 2019 to begin his training contract, following completion of his Legal Practice Course and Master of Laws at Nottingham Law School. Felix qualified as a solicitor in 2021 and was promoted to Associate Solicitor in 2025.

Felix advises many clients on all aspects of licensing law, with strong experience in contested applications, reviews, and applications within cumulative impact areas. Felix has a wide client base, covering operators up and down the country, and has specialist knowledge of the London boroughs and the complexities that applications within the capital present to operators.

Felix has a particular focus on the restaurant and bar sector and has worked on some of the best new openings in the city of the last few years, including Mountain, Soho (one of four London based Restaurants listed in the World 50 2025) and One Club Row, Shoreditch, dubbed the ‘Hottest new opening of 2025’.

Felix is a self-proclaimed ‘foodie’ and has a strong personal passion for food and the development of the London hospitality scene. Because of this, Felix truly understands the practical difficulties operators face in running hospitality venues and will provide commercial and practical strategic advice to ensure you obtain the best premises licence possible for your business.

Alongside his work in the alcohol licensing sector, Felix also sits within our betting and gaming team and represents several clients operating licensed gambling venues throughout the UK. Felix advises MERKUR Slots on their UK expansion project, dealing with new premises licence applications, transfer applications, and variation applications from initial instruction through to a hearing before a Licensing Committee and appeals.

Felix is a regular author in a number of trade press including Coinslot and Publican’s The Morning Advertiser and is heavily involved in hospitality networking circles such as The Leisure Property Forum, Hospitality Titans and the Institute of Licensing’s National Training Conference.

In 2025, Felix was listed in the Legal 500 as a Recommended Lawyer for both licensing and gambling, the youngest solicitor in the firm’s history to do so.
