Readers may remember our enews urging operators to consider issuing a Temporary Event Notice (TENs) to 1am if their existing hours don’t extend to 11pm.
As a reminder, the Licensing Act 2003 (UEFA Football Championship Licensing Hours) Order 2024 relaxes the Licensing Act 2003 for matches involving England if they reach the semi finals and/or final of UEFA Euro 2024.
With England now progressing to the last 16, we urge operators to review their premises licence. The euros licensing hours relaxation order only applies to premises already authorised for alcohol sales until at least 23:00, meaning that if your licence only permits the sale of alcohol until earlier on those days you will not benefit and will instead have to issue a Temporary Events Notice.
With this said, it is important to note that the deadline for the semi-finals and finals TENs are fast approaching.
