Regulations for new Tier system for England laid before Parliament

Wednesday 2nd marks start of new regionally-based Tier system

“After debate tomorrow The Health Protection (Coronavirus, Restrictions) (All Tiers) (England) Regulations 2020 are to come into force from 0001 on Wednesday 2nd December, replacing the current national restrictions with a regionally-differentiated approach, where different tiers of restrictions apply in different parts of the country.

There are 3 tiers for local restrictions:

  • Tier 1: Medium alert
  • Tier 2: High alert
  • Tier 3: Very High alert

The new regulations can be found here.

We issued an enews on 26th November with a summary of the Medium, High and Very High Tier restrictions, which can be found here.

The ‘Guidance for Restaurants, pubs, bars and takeaway services’ can be found here and a link to other Government Guidance documents, for example for Hotels, the Performing Arts and the Visitor Economy can be found here.

Further commentary to follow.”
