New proposed changes to Liverpool Licensing Policy on Knife Crime Deterrence approved

The proposal was approved by the Licensing Committee and is set to go to Full Council next month

“Liverpool Licensing Committee this week has approved proposals to implement changes to their Statement of Licensing Policy to incorporate new deterrence of Knife Crime measures, following on from the public consultation that went out in late summer 2018.

The proposals are outlined in Annex 2 of the link below, however in brief these are:

  • All new applications beyond 00:00 to include in their operating schedule steps to prevent customers from becoming at risk of knife crime
  • A list of proposed conditions that the council will expect to be considered by new applicants
  • All existing premises licences beyond 00:00 are expected to have the same degree of consideration as all new applications

These proposals have yet to receive Full Council approval and are expected to be heard early next month, and if approved, would be likely to take effect immediately.”
