Dishoom CEO Brian Trollip honoured as Person of the Year at R200 awards

The R200 awards are held every year to honour the best and brightest in hospitality, celebrating the key achievements in the UK restaurant industry over the past year. This year’s awards and dinner were held at Hawksmoor in Canary Wharf, with hundreds of attendees present to toast their peers.

Dishoom’s CEO, Brian Trollip, was delighted to be honoured at this year’s ceremony, scooping the prestigious Poppleston Allen-sponsored Person of the Year award.

The award recognises outstanding achievement and innovation in the hospitality sector, and Trollop’s contributions to the industry have been widely celebrated by peers and industry leaders alike.

Trollip joined Dishoom in 2010 to oversee its operations and has been instrumental in the restaurant chain reaching 13 sites across England and Wales, with a US expansion also planned. His influence has extended beyond Dishoom’s walls, playing a part in shaping UK hospitality standards by advocating for fairness, responsible business practices, and sustainable growth in the industry.

This is the latest accolade for the B-Corp certified restaurant chain, as they were named as Omni Channel Brand of the Year at R200 2022 Awards.

Paula Kioko joined Poppleston Allen in June 2022 as the marketing assistant for her sandwich year placement. In January 2024 she became the marketing associate.

She completed her BA in Journalism in 2021 and her MSc in Advertising and Marketing Communications in 2023, both at Nottingham Trent University.

Her day to day work currently revolves around the management of the website and social media platforms.

Paula works under the direction of the head of marketing to help reach the firm’s marketing goals and objectives.
