Leading licensing law firm kicks-off 2022 with promotions

Licensing solicitor promotions are a result of a continued business rebound as the licensed sector starts to grow in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Leading alcohol and gambling licensing firm, Poppleston Allen Solicitors, has promoted solicitors Suraj Desor and David Inzani to associates, as it sees business continue to rebound in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Both Suraj and David have been promoted from the positions of solicitor to associate solicitor, a move that recognises their “hard work and success” according to managing partner, Lisa Sharkey

Lisa comments: “It’s a great pleasure to start the year with these two promotions, especially after all the hospitality sector has been through in the last couple of years. Suraj and David have both become invaluable members of our teams across both the Nottingham and London offices.

Lisa continues: “What is particularly pleasing is that they are starting to build their own client bases and give advice on high profile work, such as the Chelsea Flower Show and Good Pair Days, an Australian online wine brand recently launched into the UK market. Both David and Suraj are excellent solicitors and valuable assets to our team.”

David joined Poppleston Allen in 2015 and qualified as a solicitor in 2018, advising on all aspects of alcohol and entertainment licensing law.  He also advises on gaming matters and regularly assists clients by providing regulatory advice and carrying out applications for operating licences and premises licenses.

Suraj joined Poppleston Allen in April 2011, following which, he trained and qualified as a solicitor with the firm in July 2014 and is now widely recognised as a specialist alcohol and entertainment licensing solicitor, advising on premises licence applications, variations and licensing reviews.

Both David and Suraj regularly contribute articles to the trade press with expert opinions. They also present on licensing updates and legislation on behalf of the firm, most recently presenting to over 80 real estate and property professionals for the Leisure Property Forum.

This promotion means the firm, which has offices in Nottingham’s Lace Market and King’s Cross, central London, has a total of 15 licensing partners, solicitors and associates – more than any other licensing firm in the UK.
