Changes to the frequency of Gambling Commission Regulatory Returns comes into force today

All operators are required to submit quarterly regulatory returns to ensure harmonisation across the industry

Following our e-news in March, the proposed changes to the frequency of Regulatory Returns for operators has today come into effect.

From today, Licence Condition 15.3.1 of the Licence Conditions and Code of Practice (LCCP) has been updated requiring all licensees to submit regulatory returns on a quarterly basis, within 28 days of the end of each quarterly period.

Any previous returns that included the 30th June 2024, will now fall due on either the 28th July or the 11th August 2024 dependent on the operating licence, and the new reporting period starts today and will run until 30 September 2024.

Going forward, all operating licences will be harmonised, and the regulatory returns will be due within 28 days of the end of the quarterly period with the July to September 2024 return being due on the 28th October 2024.

As well as the amendment to the frequency of returns, the Commission have today introduced further changes to the regulatory return process following a consultation in 2020, which includes the removal of some questions asked of operators when filing returns.

The Gambling Commission are currently updating eServices accounts and the Regulatory Returns Guidance to Operators to reflect the new deadlines.

The full detail of the changes can be found here.
