Latest Consultation announced on proposed changes to the Licence Conditions and Codes of Practice

Gambling Commission launches consultation on proposed changes to the LCCP regarding which Operators must apply the multi-operator self-exclusion scheme (GAMSTOP), amendments to reporting requirements and technical updates regarding payment services providers

On the 28th February 2023, the Gambling Commission launched its latest Consultation on proposed changes to the Licence Conditions and Codes of Practice;

  1. Social Responsibility Code Provision 3.5.5 amending to the requirement for Remote Betting Operators who are required to participate in the Multi-Operator Self Exclusion scheme (GAMSTOP), extending to its application to apply to all Licence’s that make and accept bets by telephone and email.
  2. Proposed amendment to Licence Condition 5.2.2 which prescribes “Reportable Events” which must be notified to the Gambling Commission to include details of where an Operator becomes aware that a person who has gambled with them has died by suicide
  3. Amendment to Licence Condition 5.1.2 to ensure that the wording of the technical requirements for Operators use of Payment Service Providers reflects the current legislative provisions and can reflect any further legislative amendments to the Payment Services Regulations.

The Consultation closes on the 23rd May 2023 and stakeholders are asked to respond to the online survey through the Gambling Commission’s website which can be found here.
