We may get an extra hour in bed, but how will this affect your premise?
This weekend is officially the end of British Summertime, though I’m surer many of you would argue that it’s been a thing of the past for some time now.
At 2am on Sunday 29th October 2023, the clocks will go back one hour. This means that 2am effectively becomes 1am.
If your premises licence permits licensable activities and opening hours of 2am or later, and there is nothing on your licence to the contrary, then you will be ale to trade for an additional hour to take account of the change in time and the clocks going back. No specific additional permissions are required with regards to this.
If licensing activities cease prior to 2am on your licence, then it is business as usual, and the premises will not benefit from an additional hour.
For further information, please feel free to contact any of our licensing solicitors or call 0115 953 8500
