Poppleston Allen, host their annual licensing and regulatory seminar

A day packed full of wisdom, networking and understanding the licensing and regulatory sector

Licensing solicitors, Poppleston Allen, hosted their annual licensing and regulatory seminar at Brown’s Covent Gardens on Wednesday, 28 September.

Attended by over 70 professionals from the world of pubs, bars, restaurants and hotels from brands such as Mitchells & Butlers, PizzaExpress, Market Taverns, Pan Pacific Hotels, Dorsett Hotels, The Big Table Group and REKOM to name a few. This was a fantastic day packed with knowledge and networking.

The two sessions delivered invaluable and fascinating content. Speakers and topics included:

AM Regulatory. 10:30am – 12:30pm

  • Graeme Cushion, partner, Poppleston Allen: Welcome and overview
  • Saba Naqshbandi, barrister, Three Raymond Buildings: The Regulatory Sentencing Regime: what to expect and how operators can achieve the ‘best’ outcome. This will cover the sentencing regime for health and safety, fire safety and food safety, including an update on recent cases.
  • Rob Easton, Shield Safety: Hailed as one of the most significant developments in food safety within the hospitality sector, Rob will present on the need for Safe to Trade, how the scheme operates and the benefits for businesses, consumers and regulators. Those in attendance will also learn how they can be involved in shaping Safe to Trade as it moves forward.
