News Minimum unit pricing for alcohol starts today in Scotland.

You must be selling alcohol at the right price from today with no exceptions.

“The minimum unit price of 50p per unit is in force from today.

The minimum unit price for alcohol applies to both:

  • retailers that sell alcohol for drinking off the premises (like newsagents and supermarkets)
  • places that sell alcohol for drinking on the premises (like pubs, bars, clubs and restaurants)

If you are unsure of a minimum price for a product you can use this calculator to assist.

Further information for retailers can be found on the Scottish Government website here.”
