Q: A Police Officer has visited and said that I must have a personal licence holder on duty at all times, however this is not a condition on my licence. Is he correct?
A: No. If there is not a condition on your licence to this effect then the general law applies, which is that each sale of alcohol must be made or authorised by a personal licence holder. This means that you should have a set of (preferably written) authorisations from your DPS or other personal licence holder authorising other members of staff to make those sales. It is of course best practice to have personal licence holders on duty.
