“On the 29th July 2020, the Licence Conditions and Codes of Practice (LCCP) will be amended to reflect the proposed changes announce by the Government in July 2019.
Amended Licence Condition 11 will permit increased financial limits:
• Individual draw proceeds of up to £5,000,000 (raised from £4,000,000);
• Annual aggregate proceeds of up to £50,000,000 (up from (£10,000,000);
• A maximum individual prize of up to £500,000 rather than £400,000, provided that the lottery proceeds reach the new maximum individual draw level.
Social Responsibility Code Provision 4.3.3 will also be amended requiring that Licensees ensure that ‘clear, transparent and easily accessible information is made available to consumers, to enable them to make an informed choice prior to participating in a lottery. This must include, but is not restricted to, details of how proceeds are used, the likelihood of winning a prize and how prizes are allocated’.
The changes are being implemented following the 12 week public consultation completed by the Gambling Commission from 19th December 2019 to 12th March 2020.
