Course Summary

Target candidates

This qualification has been developed for existing designated premises supervisors and those who may wish to take up this post, working in any type of licensed premises. Candidates should have completed the BIIAB National Certificate for Personal Licence Holders or possess equivalent knowledge prior to taking this qualification.

  • The activities that are carried out from licensed premises
  • The requirements of legislation and best practice involved with the four licensing objectives:
    • Prevention of crime and disorder
    • Prevention of public nuisance
    • Public safety
    • Protection of children from harm
  • The requirements of other legislation and best practice
  • How to conduct a risk assessment and how it is used to underpin the operating schedule
  • How the operating schedule provides the designated premises supervisor with day to day management controls and provides due diligence


Training delivery methodology

The BIIAB Level 3 Award For Designated Premises Supervisors is designed to be delivered in one day via a tutored course combining pre-course self-study of the handbook and tutored face-to-face delivery. The course costs from £170 plus vat.
