The Gambling Commission announce they are reviewing peer to peer poker.
Commenting, Nick Arron, Partner at Poppleston Allen said:
"The Gambling Commission is consulting with licensees who offer peer to peer poker, for information, and for the licensees’ views on current issues relating to the product. The call for information is to assess whether the current controls in the Licence Conditions and Codes of Practice, and the remote gambling and software technical standards, are sufficient to ensure online poker complies with the Gambling Act 2005 licensing objectives.
As part of the review the Commission will be considering the impact of game integrity issues overall and are using the opportunity to canvas news generally on the product.
This informal information gathering review will then be used as a basis for a future formal consultation on the remote technical standards."
