David qualified as a Solicitor in 1988 and spent the next 7 years practising law and advising businesses on a variety of commercial law issues.

David was a Partner at Alastair Thomson and Partners between 1994 and 1995. Upon moving into the hospitality industry in 1996, he helped to build a small chain of high quality bar/restaurants in central London. During the subsequent 12 years, David was fully involved on a day to day basis in the running of all the companies, from business planning and administration to marketing, financial and legal considerations.

In October 2008 David joined Poppleston Allen, Licensing Solicitors, as a Solicitor and in charge of Business Development. Since that time his role within the firm has extended to include social media marketing (Twitter, YouTube etc) and training.
