News: PPL Taking Reasonable Approach

You will have read previous eNews concerning the PPL consultation on specially featured entertainment.
The original deadline for receipt of responses to the consultation was 14th October but that has now been extended to the end of the calendar year.
Moreover, PPL has agreed to enter in to negotiation with the industry and to make no changes to the existing regime until 1st January 2013 at the earliest - its previous position had been that the extreme hike in fees which they were proposing would take effect from April 2012.
It seems that at least 400 licensees have responded already and of course trade organisations have been very vocal in making their views very clear to PPL.
Although the issue is as yet far from decided, the early signs seem fairly promising.
