Entertainment & liquor licensing
Personal Licenses
For the first time there will be two separate licences; one for you personally and one for your premises.
You will only need a Personal Licence if you wish to sell alcohol under a premises licence.
If you wish to supply liquor in a members club, or simply provide regulated entertainment or supply hot food between 11:00pm and 5:00am you will not need a Personal Licence.
The licence is portable, like a driving licence, lasts for ten years and is granted by your Local Authority. In order to be granted a personal licence you must apply on the approved form and:
- a) you must be over 18 years old
- b) you must possess and accredited licensing qualification - the National Certificate for Personal Licence Holders (NCPLH). Click here to see details of courses run by our sister training company, Poppleston Allen Training
- c) you must not have had a personal licence forfeited in the last five years
- d) you must pay the appropriate fee
- e) you must supply two passport style photographs, signed by a solicitor or anyone else with standing in the community
- f) you must not have a conviction for any relevant of foreign offences which are not spent
