About Us

Our employment service offers a unique blend of employment and licensing expertise with a particular focus on the licensed trade.

We retain the consultancy services of employment specialists Nelsons Solicitors Limited.

Established in 1983, Nelsons offers specialist advice on a wide range of business and personal legal issues, advising clients both locally and nationally. With 30 partners and over 170 staff across its three offices, the firm has been listed for the fifth year running as one of the East Midlands' regional heavyweights in the 2009 edition of the independently researched directory Legal 500.

The employment team at Nelsons, also recommended by the Legal 500, consists of 11 dedicated employment lawyers, including two partners and is led by Andy Jamieson.

Andy is supported by solicitors who have experience of both licensing and employment in the leisure industry. This blend of experience enables them to understand the particular employment needs of leisure operators. Nick is engaged by Poppleston Allen and spent time on secondment in employment practice, whilst Rebecca Madden works with Andy in the employment team at Nelsons Solicitors and spent time with Poppleston Allen in licensing.

Nelsons is accredited by Lexcel which is the Law Society's Quality Standard for effective practice management and excellence in client care. This quality mark recognises the commitment of everyone at Nelsons to providing clients with the superior service which they are entitled to expect.
